I finished my year-long marketing placement at the end of June, and after celebrating the company's 15 year in industry on a River Thames Cruise, I headed to Northern Norway and have stayed here since.
Enjoying lazy summer days at the cabin with my family.
And mountain walks on remote islands...
Spending all the time I could with my gorgeous sister.
This summer ended up being everything I wanted it to be, and more. The weather was amazing, with many days exceeding 20 degrees - a rarity in the Arctic. New family additions were greeted, I met childhood friends, spent time at the cabin, mushroom foraging & berry picking, boat trips and, finally, enjoying delicious homecooked meals. All the things I had been craving to do.
Having lived in the UK for nearly five years now, I truly appreciate the time I get to spend at home with my family, which unfortunately is not often enough. If there's one thing I've learnt, it's that the relationships I have to those around me are the most precious things in life. Distance is hard, but it makes you appreciate the time you get to spend together.
