Blåisvatn is a popular hiking trek in the Lyngen Alps, and understandably so. The trek takes less than two hours, there's hardly an incline, and when you reach the end destination you're rewarded by the view of a piercing blue glacial lake.
My mum and I laced our hiking boots one weekend the sun was shining and decided to make the journey to South-Lengangen. The landscape here reminds me of Alaska, and throughout the entirety of the walk the river was rushing next to us. It's a great place to visit if you're in Troms!
Enormous rocks left by the glacier which once covered the valley.
We enjoyed the view of the glacial lake as we ate our packed lunch. You can see the remnants of a once large glacier nestled between the mountain tops.
Snapping a few photos as one does...
Before heading back down again in the setting sun.
